(to be honest, I recently discovered this video and just wanted an excuse to post it Image nice scenery though.)
Great video, nothing to do with food, but a great video.

Which leads me on to this food related item...

Buttery biscuit base...

You're all mad. Which is why I like you.
I made this last night

http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/beefrendang_78767

and it was stunning. !!! TJ had to use lots of self restraint to eat a sensible amount and said 'Out of all the nice things you've made, this is the best yet.'
Of course there were the usual shortcuts.
I simmered the beef (casserole beef) for 90 mins then added it to the curry for 30- 45 minutes.
Used ghee fo fry the paste.
I used three stalks of lemongrass and extra garlic.
No lime leaves, just zest and juice.
Asda do a Thai curry kit with most of the oddball stuff (£1.10)

and the rice was superb too. If you fancy a curry that is spicy but not hot, I can recommend this one.
5*

My breadmaker has just pinged so it's time for some fresh bread and leftover curry.
Sprinter...I'm on the way Image Image Image

Humous is a kind of staple for vegans, and I'm occasionally reminded that not everyone eats it and, more to the point, the people who do eat it often buy it. So here goes:

Humous
Put into a blender / food processor -
1 tin of chickpeas (about 240g)
1 rounded tablespoon of tahini
1 clove of garlic (use a small one if you're not used to the taste)
Juice of 1 lemon
A splash of olive oil
Water - to come up about half way up the chickpeas. It's always better to start with less and add more if needed.

Then, blend the mix into a nice creamy humous. Serve with a sprinkle of paprika and some fresh toasted pitta. Mmmmm... Simple, but there's nothing like it to hit the spot... The humous spot...
