Hi Nezzie
I'm here :) sat with mindless tv on in background and playing on line scrabble

The link to roll call is here
https://www.carersuk.org/forum/social-a ... call-32645

Our posts tend to be sporadic as most of us get interuppted by our caring tasks.
I 'care' for a young adult who functions well practically so I'm needed more for emotional support than 'hands on so I'm here most evening's as I work in the days

I'm also a slow and bad typist, sorry for calling you Nazzie!

Hello Nezzie
My husband is in a nursing home because of strokes and vascular dementia. He is 73 I'm 68. We've been married 50years. Young love that lasted. He hasn't lived in our home for 30months. He doesn't remember it, sadly. He hasn't forgotten our children or grandchildren to date. Miss our old life dreadfully.
The forum has been a massive support to me, and I hope it will be for you too.

Hi Portia, welcome to the forum. It's a forum rather than chat room. Sometimes there will be a whilebefore your post is read. Carers tend to be busy people! Who do you care for? Age? Disability?

Hi Everyone I'm new here and having trouble using the forum. How do I find replies? I answered questions asked by bowling bun but can't find how to see the response.
I need advice about how to look after myself, everyone keeps telling me this is really important and I know it but I am alone caring for my 89 year old father. He is waiting for a hip replacement and is virtually helpless. I feel so isolated. I don't see my friends or family. There is no one to care for him so that I can have time off. My brother lives in France and my sister is 300 miles away.

Hi Catherine
There are several ways to find posts. Top left you should see 3 short horizontal bars called Quick links
Click there and the first option is to see your posts. If you then click on each one you will see the whole thread and any responses

Back at Quick links you can see what everyone else has been posting by clicking in either' new posts'or'unread posts' which will show you all the posts since you last looked.

The main list of threads by topic is below the 3 horizontal lines and is a house icon called board index

Hope this helps
MrsA
