Neil Armstrong first man on the moon sadly passed away today

No one has been to the moon yet. Ever. It was all a hoax.
What a momentous achievement that was. I well remember my dad following every report on TV etc. Don't go along with the hoax theory myself.

You might change your mind after you read this....

RIP Neil Armstrong.
Whether it was real or not, it was very exciting to be a child at that time watching the news. Image
The hoax theorists are usually so ignorant of basic physics that a bright 9 year old can rubbish them, even ignoring the Russia angle (they would not have gone along with a conspiracy). But this is not the place for that discussion. Trouble is, too many people saw the rubbish Lew Grade movie Capricorn 1 and took it to be a reworking of the truth, using Apollo 13 as the "what if?"

I remember watching the moon landing and the excitement of the time. Good to remember it from time to time.

RIP Mr Armstrong.

Love the last paragraph:

"In their statement, Armstrong's family talk of a man who never lost his "boyhood wonder" at the pursuits of aviation and spaceflight, adding: "For those who may ask what they can do to honour Neil, we have a simple request. Honour his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink."
I love that paragraph too Charles. Thank you for sharing.

I have also found out that he is inspirational to parents like me. He lost a 3 year old daughter in 1962,and still found a way to enjoy life so much and work so hard at what he did.
I will be out watching the moon tonight Image
I don't go for the hoax theory at all, but even if it's true, the rest of his life's achievements make him a remarkable man.
RIP

I do agree. Image
I agree with Garyo, why was the flag blowing when there is no wind up their and how did they fit a moon buggy the size of a qash qui up into a capsule thats only big enough for three people tightly squashed together. they did not have the technology that they have now, and so everytime they spoke to each other, there would have been a gap in the speech travelling backwards and forwards, I say they lit up a deserted beach at night and did it there, too make it look real, but like Garyo says, I too think it was all a hoax.
