Needing tips on changes to BBC i player

I've been helping my friend watch programmes on BBC i player. Just recently have encountered they've made changes to having to now sign in. I tried phoning their number on screen, could barely made out the guest pin number was given, so don't know how to go about accessing it anymore. It was so much simpler before them now adding the sign in. I've search for the solution online, can't find the right one. Any suggestions?

It doesn't say anything about a pin code now needed. Even still, it's only used as a guest.

The only answer I have:

When BBC i player is clicked on, a blue box with 'Sign In' appears. Clicking that brings you to, on the left the wifi code and underneath; seeing you're a guest to phone their 0800 number for a 5 digit pin number. I tried phoning the number, which was hardly audible for the pin number - but my concern is seeing they'd be classing my friend as a guest when he's had i player for some time now, what next?
