So happy! We applied for some help with a recumbent trike from a charity called Cerebra about a year ago as my son can't ride a regular bike and outgrew his special needs one a few years back - and got a letter today to say they'd agreed to the funding! Am over the moon, it's a terribly expensive (but quite wonderful) bit of kit and it means we can start going out together again, he can cycle and I can run! That's assuming I still can as it's been a while but will be so nice to be getting out in the fresh air again and getting a bit of proper exercise. Very, very happy :) Here's a pic of the sort of thing it is, they're incredible:

They are terribly expensive but the chap at the warehouse reckons this should do him for the next ten years size wise and they're well built and he can wash his bike now while I wash the car!
Whoopee - that's great :D
Great news for sonwhocares and you. The exercise regime starts here :D
Thanks, Anne and Susie :) Do you think more exercise means I can eat more biscuits? ;)

Ah, rats! ;)
That look brilliant. I bet your son can't wait- how soon can you get it?
That's great. Lovely to hear some positive news. How exciting.

Thanks, Henrietta, he's so excited (we both are!), it does look amazing but I have already been told I'm not allowed on it :) Will be lovely to be able to get out and about a bit again.

I'm not sure when we can get it, there's a form I have to post back to them and once they've sorted out whatever they need to sort at their end they order it for us and then we can go and collect it, so I'm hoping it will be weeks rather than months :) Very lucky it's come at this time of year when we can get out and about, hopefully in the sunshine! It was a lovely bit of post to open :)
