Mom's carers

Hi

I am a carer for my partner who had a Stroke at the start of covid, it's been a horrible time and I don't know how I am still here (honestly) I have also been trying to look after my mom who has carers to help her she has dementia, over the last couple of weeks it has got realy bad and the carers have changed to an emergency care team to fit in extra calls, because mom's usual carers couldn't fit her in I fitted a camera in mom's bedroom because I was afraid of falling out of bed unattended, I was realy shocked one morning to see a carer pull out a pair of straight scissors and cut and tear my mom's nightdress off.
I just wanted to k ow if this has happened to anybody else l, and is this normal?

Hi Peter,

I'm sorry to hear about your partner and that you are also juggling your Mum's care.

Cutting and tearing off a nightdress is most definitely not normal! Goodness. I would be wanting an investigation.

There are many types of abuse and not all maybe mentioned in the above links.

This is totally unacceptable behaviour and needs to be investigated.

Yes thanks for replying I though so but just wanted to get people's reactions before I report it, I have it recorded on camera and the more I watch it back to more it makes me mad, the said carer turned at my mom's flat that morning in a foul mood which was made worse because my mom was struggling to get off the bed due to certain conditions at the time ie a water infection which was making my mom more confused than normal, since this carers outfit wouldn't fit my mom's new calls in she ended up in hospital and we learned today she has contracted covid, she is 79 with diabetes and early dementia, I care for my partner, and now feel totally helpless.
