Daughter has a friend in Lancaster who is about to go into hosp for cancer operation, then chemo afterwards. She wants to send her a little something whilst she's in hosp (three weeks minimum) to make her feel better, but is unsure what to send.
I suggested some handcream or something like that, that she can use whilst laying down, to make her feel good about herself.
Any suggestions? Not heavyweight, cos daughter has to post it.
this may sound strange - but what about sending some money specifically to be used for the pay TV ? (You know the one that is mounted over every patient's bed, but has to be paid for).

Otherwise maybe - pretty, smelly soap or talc ? or pack of small playing cards (patience) or a Puzzle book ?
A guardian angel? There are some lovely ones in different colours which can be worn later as a brooch. They come on a card, usually with a nice comforting verse.xx
Difficult one because it has to be posted, I'll have a think!
Thank you.

I get those. Sometimes just the little card itself as they can be kept in a purse later too. Or a wallet when sent to a man. For safety normally enclose it in a seperate bigger envelope to ensure it reaches them okay
The guardian angels are lovely, I've bought them from time to time.
Alternatively, how about a cologne stick? I always have one made by Yardley's Lavender, and a handbag tube of their handcream, when I go travelling. It should be OK in the post and might mask the smell of the hospital, help her feel good about herself.
Lavender is a lovely fragrance Bowlingbun.

I burn lavender candle when I am cooking to relieve stress and keep the smell of the cooking from the rest of the house.xx

On the subject of angels, I also have three in a tiny treasure chest shaped box which are referred to as"worry angels".xx
Talk of 'guardian angels' reminds me that I have one given to me more years ago than I care to remember - it was given me by a friend of my 'best' friend who used to live in Florida and was given to me just before I flew home after a short visit. Mine is a brooch one and the Americans call it 'an angel on your shoulder' - my teddy wears it now Image
