Partly dedicated to ... Syd ... now , he WAS a national treasure ... I was privileged to see him perform three times ... once dueling with Kevin Ayers during a Pink Floyd / Soft
Machine joint session at the U.F.O. ... that magical year of 1967 ... being over 6 feet tall at age 14 helped !

The voluntary support given to food banks is "rather uplifting" and "shows what a compassionate country we are", Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg has said.

A yellow Christmas card on it's way ?

Ok music lovers, so far in the Carer’s Top Twenty we have;

In at this week's number 20 is Billy Ocean - When the going gets tough, the tough get going ...

Slammin’ in at number 19 is The End by The Doors

Callin’ in at number 18 we have The Red Telephone by Love

The less known favourite at number 17 is Canny Fettle – Bonny Lass

And at 16 serenaded by Helen Reddy – I’m a Woman

At 15 it’s Bruce Springsteen- Waitin(g) on a Sunny Day, with great lyrics !!!

A nostalgic number 14, Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here

Unlucky (?) at 13 - Napoleon XIV are singin They're Coming To Take Me Away

Try and keep the format going if you can ..

Cheeky ?

More somewhat factual ?

Number 19 ?

Automatic Number 1 ... not unsurprisingly , as more of the late 60s generation are now in that Woodstock / Isle of Wight in the sky , a fitting choice
before that box starts it's journey towards the curtains ... and the flames beyond !

( I could post the lyrics to that epic song but ... one chorus would NOT pass even my censorship ! )

Perhaps another by The Doors ... Light My fire ... on the way in ?

How about Gloria Gaynor's "I will survive"?

"He ain't heavy, he's my brother" by The Hollies?

"The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where Who knows where
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.
So on we go
His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he to bear
We'll get there
For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy…

Yes, it had gone a bit off topic - my choice, (and I've been thinking quite hard), the lyrics can mean a lot of things to different people, my interpretation is not the same as the writer's, but tough! :)

Macarthur Park - Richard Harris

I don't mind the Kris Kristofferson version either.

A fitting use ... in a very emotional tribute ?

If I wanted to be pedantic:- "Out here we is stoned - Immaculate" . From both *Stoned Immaculate* and *The Wasp (Texas Radio and the Big Beat)*.

Good driving music The Doors, although it can make you want to put your foot down a bit.

If you want Doors lyrics for carers, how about *Been down so long*
Well, I've been down so Goddamn long
That it looks like up to me
