You don’t have to be drastic. You could just start by replacing any snacks with fruit. I have to admit I was never one to just pick up an apple and eat it. But I put a bowl of fruit on the table for the entire family and stopped buying cookies and chips and now when I feel like a snack, I say “eat a fruit first and see if you are still hungry”.
From there, I started replacing meals and cooking healthier too. Step by step of replacing habits and remember it takes 12 weeks for a habit to fully be ingrained - so those 12 weeks you need to have some discipline and conscientiously say no to junk food. After that, things become more reflex. There is a British program called Second Nature that works off this principle and it was how I started my journey.
