Hi All

I don't want to boast but I was on the News this week! Yep, little old me made it ....Channel 5 News for an incredible 1 second. Oh well!

The reason was that Cameron and Boris were on their Battle Bus and stopped off at a Nursery near where I work.

So today, I would love to hear your Claims To Fame.
I'll then read out your stories at my virtual Riverside Pub -the show for carers and their families on:

www.radiowey.co.uk at 1.pm (Sat)

Best wishes
Tim
This is a highly tenuous connection and not meant for radio particularly but I met my Dad's first cousins a couple of years ago and they were professional ballroom dancers in the days of the old style Come Dancing and appeared on the show many times. Not only that but they taught Len Goodman to dance! They are in their 80s now of course

How wonderful Henrietta, I remember watching Come Dancing at the time on TV so would have seen them!
Here's my Claim To Fame from Wednesday! I'm the bloke standing behind the chap in sun glasses.

We did say something more intelligent but they only used this bit! It's about 0.52 seconds in.

I don't know about claim to fame but..

I was on Good Morning Britain back on the 80's, being interviewed (think it was Anne Diamond) with my then boss, a prominent consultant psychiatrist, as part of a news issue at that time. I remember in the opposing corner ( ;) ) was the late Conservative MP, Teddy Taylor - less said about him the better. What was quite funny was that it was a very early slot so I was back home (transport provided) to take the kids to school. I did get some stick from friends in the playground about if who they saw was actually me, and why didn't I say I was going to be on the telly! We also did some TV work with a Danish documentary crew about the same time.
I was briefly singing with a folk band that included Dominic Monaghan's dad, when they were in Muenster. Dominic was just a little boy in those days...not a lost hobbit!

Back in the 70's the Government wanted to extend the M3 down into Hampshire. At the time I was working for the County Council - along come the local BBC people to interview various concerned parties outside the front of the offices. I was involved with getting committee reports printed, and the main print room had a power cut. We needed to get the reports across to another department to finish the print run. My friend and I came running out of the main doors carrying the reports, and in trying to run down the steps (behind the interviewees), tripped and dropped the lot on the floor! Whoops!

I sang with my school choir in the Rose Garden at the White House for Bill Clinton when I was 14. Got a signed certificate from him gathering dust in the loft!
I was on STV and the BBC last year with my husband and son for my son's campaign to raise awareness of the plight of the young adults who are being kicked out of the Childrens Hospice to nothing due to their introduction of a cut off age.
