BT Basic Tarriff

Anybody on BT Basic Tariff? I was having problems with my BT bill, so phoned them to discuss. When they heard I was on benefits, they told me about BT Basic Tarriff that's specifically for those on low income/pensions. So I received the form, filled it and sent it back. Then I received a response stating I wasn't eligible for BT Basic Tarriff for potentially 2 reasons. Either they phoned DWP, who couldn't verify I'm on ESA or that the form wasn't filled in correctly. I was thinking of including proof of ESA, but the form specified they'd check with DWP. So I was fuming, and phoned BT again, where they're sending out another form for me to fill in and I can now include a copy of proof of ESA I'm on. I told them it's a loop-hole they need to sort out, they responded by stating something was missing on their form 🙄

Yep, did all that and still they sent me the response that they checked with the DWP who couldn't confirm I'm on ESA, or that I hadn't filled in the form correctly - which I had, as I doubled checked.
Firstly, many thanks for mentioning this, my son should qualify but I'd never heard of it.

It's now time to ask for your complaint to be "escalated" to the BT management.
