Black coffee for weight loss

I want to lose weight; but as a regular iced coffee person, it’s difficult for me to drink black coffee alone and cut off sugar. Still, it is advised to drink it that way for weight loss.

Is it okay if I drink my black coffee with a teaspoon of sugar for it to be palatable? Or does it still prompt weight gain? with that little amount of sugar

The reason black coffee is often mentioned is not because it's healthy of itself, but rather in contrast to the sugar laden creamy fat juice people typically saddle their poor coffee mugs with. Water only would likely be better, but for the caffeine addicts among us black coffee or tea is lowest in calories.

When I did my roux en y gastric bypass surgery, the doctor told me that no intentionally eaten sugar is accepted because every product we buy already contains sugar. We just double it in this case

Too many calories, no matter where they’re from, will once again cause weight gain, and my body will only suffer. Moreover, lots of added sugar in your diet could make you more likely to eat too much over the day. It would help if you replaced some empty calories with whole foods, and you’ll feel fuller sooner and less likely to overeat. And if you need your coffee sweeter, just change the sugar with a healthier substitute.
