A few birds from Mr & Mrs Scally's recent holiday trip to the Outer Hebrides: Barra, Uist, Harris and Lewis: we took the island-hopper (costing less than £200 for two adults and a car) and drove up the entire length of the island chain, from Vatersay to the Butt of Lewis, taking five days over the trip.

Love the pics Scally. I should have put a few of mine up on here from the other week but deleted them all 580 of them from the laptop after criticism(nobody from the forum) about slightly blurry pictures.
On a better note, I have been enjoying a lovely quiet single track lane at night which is frequented by two beautiful tawny owls, they fly a few yards, sit in the road then go a little further etc, wonderful to watch.
Blurry is fine: sometimes you just have to take that shot, and if its the only one you get (like that stonechat, a personal first for me) then publish and be damned. Closest I ever got to a tawny owl was in my local country park, far too dark to take a pic, but just about visible in the gloom. Hear 'em every night though..
Here's a few more from the Western Isles

Lovely pictures, as ever, thank you. Auld wifie here hasn't learnt to post pictures :)

I read in the Press & Journal today that two Little Gull chicks have hatched at Loch of Strathbeg - first ever recorded in Scotland and sixth in the wider UK. www.rspb.org.uk/lochofstrathbeg
