Cracking set: I am especially impressed by the green woodpecker, but they are all iconic.
Thanks. Here is something more common.

He's not the problem ! They come down and feed right next to him, they seem to realise that he's no threat (in all his 17 years he's never caught anything) if anything it's him who's scared of them
I suppose thhis thread has left with its originator, but here is another addition (not very good quality): a bluetit.

Greta

I had no idea squirrels had such long fingers till I saw your photo. Stuff the blue tit - they're ten a penny to photo - but a squirrel? I've been trying for ages; never succeeded.

I've often wondered what's happened to Scally. He, and David C, got me into photoing birds which, I have to admit, I haven't done for ages. I can't get my digital camera to down load with MS Windows 10. Those control freaks at Microsoft changed me from Windows 8.1 to 10... WITHOUT my permission... How very dare they! But they did.

So I shall re-show my first ever photo of a bird/s I took on my mobile phone. It's totally rubbish, but I was so proud of it.

But I stuck at it, and ended up producing this, with a proper digital camera I bought of a mate (complete with tripod) for a bottle of whisky. He'd won it in a raffle, but was pissed off he didn't win the second prize; the said whiskey. I needed a proper camera, he needed whisky, so we 'traded.' I'm sure Scally would've approved.

Bugger! I forgot to delete the Baby Sea Monster one, and I still haven't worked out how to once I've previewed.... Oh well :pinch:

Hi Saj,

Great photo of robin. The thing is to focus on the eyes, which you have.
I have hanging feeders with fat balls in them and currently often one squirrel on each (the sort that SM's friends want to shoot, if I've got that right? :o ) They pick out the seeds. Most squirrel photos are rubbish but I take a lot. The problem is that the kitchen window, through which I photograph, needs more cleaning.
Great hedgehog stories. Never seen a hedgehog here. We have got a bumble bee nest in a composter in the garden now (like the one behind your robin), which is quite new to me.

I think Pete the Paint will know more about Scally, who I fear was thrown out. Big loss.
Lovely photos. Especially the robin as I am sentimental about them.
I miss Scallys birds in the garden and not in the garden. Always cheered me up. Yes, a great loss to the forum in more ways than one.
