Finally the tits broke their boycott, with Cassidy leading the way.

No sparrow hawks around; good! Time for some brekkie.”

“Oy, Trev, over here….
“We know you’re in there, Sajewotsit, you don’t fool us! Now where’s that seed holder you promised u….

“Trev, you tit, the grub’s in this one. Now which one shall I choose? The top one perhaps?”

“Up your’s! I’m off to 43; they’ve got a proper seed holder.”

“Suit yourself, all the more for me. Maybe that middle one?”
“Deffo the middle one.”

“We should’ve been called contortiontits.. just a little bit more.”

“Trev’s right; these fat balls are a pain. Seed holders are much easier to eat from. Now where’s that blasted sunflower seed gone I spent ages pecking away for?”

when we went out to get my prescription ,got some lard ,oats ,and raisins .
when we got back had a go at making some ,had already got bird seed .made about fifty .
could not wait for them to set so i put five of them in a feeder by the shed.
if they have gone by tomorrow i will know if they are any good ,if not malcolm has got veggie faggots for tea Image Image
I hope they go, or else poor Malcolm.
Mind you, if you squish the fat balls into patties and fry them, you never know? You just might have come up with a dead tasty and nutritious culinary treat. Lard fried oats, seeds and sultanas might actually taste good?

I'm going to try making my own fat balls too and, just because I'm dead curious, I'm going to try frying one, just to see what it tastes like.
For the birds I fancy doing the half-coconut one; trouble is I don't have any coconuts to hand, and nobody sells them around here. So I'm going to try the lollipop sticks one instead.

Still haven't got my seed holder as I couldn't get out today. But I've been told they sell ace squirrel proof holders at my local pet shop.

Scally is right about the exposure bit. Initially, I moved the fat ball container to the middle of the washing line in the middle of the garden; no joy.

But when I showed mum, and whinged to her about the lack of birds, she told me the same. I was to move it back to the ivy to give the small birds cover. I followed her advice and...
Mums know best; sometimes!
