every time I groom the cat I throw the balls of fur out into the garden for the birds to use as nesting material - makes lovely soft and warm nests for the chicks Image Image
Good idea! I have recently been cutting up the collapsed rose arch rose off-cuts and the pigeons seem to like those for their nest... though the sticks are a bit thick for most birds.
AT LAST!
My cunning plan 3 worked. Trying to photograph Cassidy through a window with seed trap on window sill didn’t work. Dressing up like an albino monk to blend in with the blinds was too much hassle, and my knees hurt like mad after about 10 minutes to boot, so that was out.
But my makeshift hide worked.

Voila!
A decent picky of Cassidy…. I am well chuffed.

My hide; an old valence sheet with a hole cut in it for the camera, with seeds on paving slab as bait. The simplest solutions are the best (not as good fun as dressing up as albino monks though.)

All the home comforts; a chair, coffee, fags and a good book.

Just as well, as it took over an hour before Cassidy decided to partake of my seeds.
Now I want to catch Cassidy and Madelcass eating together. I’ve seen them do it before.
I shall leave my hide up so’s the birds get used to it. This twitching is as boring as hell, and then MAGIC… you get a shot. I’m hooked.

Thats a brilliant photo Image
Thanks for compliments. I’m just plain showing off now… it’s allowed!

“AW.... You promised! Right profile only; that’s my best side, doncha know? Amateurs; who needs ‘em!”

“That’s better….. Told you so!”

Cassidy’s 1000 mile stare; scary. No honest, it IS scary!

Dave C,

I’ll see if I can snap some tits for you tomorrow; especially for you, as you do seem to be rather obsessed by them. And why not!

Unfortunately, once the birds move they blur a bit, as follows:

Mind you, the greedy little bugger was pecking away like mad. However, I have this setting for moving objects, as follows:

Believe it or not but me fat ball container was swaying like mad, just like it does when the birds get on it, and it’s STILL in focus. I shall stuff the container with fat balls tomorrow, maybe that will help stabilise it a bit better?

There's no stopping me now. Today the back garden... Tomorrow zee railway line, and those damned elusive tree sparrows. Have tripod, will travel.
