Melly I saw my DD and SIL off about an hour and half ago. I was dismayed to see it snowing! Lightly but definitely snow. Haven't looked out since.
Well that was, relatively, short lived !

Was a bit warmer yesterday and started to thaw, then rained on and off from late afternoon and (I think) most of the night. White stuff now all gone, blue skies and sunshine this morning :) Hope that's the last we see of it this winter !
That was a quick thaw, Susie. I hope ours is the same, the side roads and pavements stayed treacherous for 10+ days after the snow had fallen in December and piles of moved snow remained even longer.
The snow that fell where we cleared yesterday has melted, but the rest is still there.

Same here Melly. My phone tells me it's now 3° Considering it said - 7° a few days ago and felt like - 16 it's going in the right direction. My friend is picking me up today, to go to see hubby and her dad. Fingers crossed.
Oh joy, I've got a lawn again! Hurrah! And last night I could sleep with the window open for the first time in a week! And now I'm sitting in the living room with the patio doors OPEN!

Bliss bliss bliss. :) :) :)

(And my cat is HAPPY because now he can finally get out - hurrah!)
8 or 9 degrees here the Rec was full of dogs having fun as they'd all gone a bit stir crazy. Spring definitely sprund this morning, loads of little daffs out and birtds singing.
On the Independent news site there is a photo of a Kingfisher frozen solid in a canal .

I saw that too... poor little bugger.

Henrietta,
Melly1 is right I did enjoy the snow. Made me several snow angels and had two snow balls fights, both of which I lost and ended up with snow down my back. You know who you are, you pair of sadists... I SHALL have my revenge

All snow now gone, and very mild here. Registered 3 degrees Celsius in car today. According to the local rag we're going to be hit with -10 degrees C next week. Hope they got that wrong as they usually do. I don't mind the cold too much with snow; but without snow the cold is just plain pointless and no fun at all.

I think you might be reading last week's issue?
Mrs Average,

You're half right. It wasn't last weeks local rag, it was from the week before. It's only delivered once a week and I've just checked it as it's in the pile I'm getting ready to put in the recycle bin... Opps!
