Just in case anyone has any lurking around that they've forgotten about..............highly unlikely I know.
£50 note  what's that when it's at home then
Not sure Sue.
I heard this on the radio today ... First I'd heard of it. Went to our little safe and found £650 in old notes!!! Dashed into town and changed them at various banks, buildings societies and Post Office. Each one will only change £200 worth.
Penny, today was the first I'd heard of it. I'm sure there will be a lot of people out there with "rainy day" money in the house oblivious to this withdrawal from circulation.
I saw one once.
Not sure I ever have. Suspect a lot of people with money stashed away at home won't be aware of this.
I've seen quite a few over the years, only because of a flash uncle who used to like pulling a wad of them out of his pocket................none ever fell in my direction.
a £50 is the one ian duncan smith wipes his month with after he has finished one of his £39 breakfasts.
Dad had a stash of £20s at one point - a typical older person who insisted on having cash in the house - must have been about 1.5K worth. He gave me some of the notes in payment for something and, when I tried to spend them, I found they were all out of date. He had to pay them into his bank account in the end to make sure their value wasn't lost.

I had a £50 note once!
