Does anyone else here use the NHS ''Patient Access'' website to access test results, book appointments etc? I've had several problems with key features. Tried sending them a message to get tech support. No answer after a two months. This morning, I've just found that all of my test results have van...
If you go to a supermarket that many of your neighbours/friends attend, try this game next time you bump into them..... Tell them you're playing tag, and they are now ''it''. Poke them, then run/wheel off at speed. If they engage, you can then spend the rest of your visit looking bizarre as you cre...
1- Try www.benefitsandwork.co.uk Good website for benefits info. They have a forum too. Some info is subscription only, but I believe the forums are open to anyone? 2- C.A.B (Citzens Advice Bureau) can be good too. Although in my experience, sometimes the adviser doesn't know as much as you wish the...
Hello,

Not in same position, but, without going into detail, I know psychiatric day centres can help after leaving hospital. You can do things like art, music, yoga, tai chi, computer classes etc. there. Also there is the cameraderie/community aspect too.

Perhaps something to look into?

Is it just me, or do those plastic bed sheets make you/your caree feel so cold? I've got a lovely new memory foam matress from John Lewis, so I don't want to wreck it with nighttime leaks and my smelly sweat (yeah, my sweat smells of ammonia these days). So I made sure to use a plastic undersheet. B...
Anyone got suggestions for reuseable incontinence pads for men? (Asking for self). They need to be quite flat, yet moderately absorbable. I can't abide bulky pads, because my bits are all squashed up in my wheelchair seat, so bulky pads cause even worse pressure points. I've found some ladies ones, ...
Hi Ayjay + Honey Badger :) That's a good point re-will the hoist work. Can understand the tension while waiting. Re-only a few wheelchairs being used for a wide range of disabilities. Yes, I've picked up on this too, despite my needs being very simple compared to some other users. Words cannot expre...
Hi Ayjay, I'm a wheelchair user. Your situation sounds familiar. I only use a simple ''active user'' manual wheelchair (Kuschall K4). It took years of on/off pressure to obtain (my energy is up and down which makes being a pushy patient a bit difficult) Mine also took 12 weeks to arrive. I too had t...
