Protests are already happening on a weekly basis all round the country for numerous reasons and by many groups, both carers and disabled people.See here for one in Scotland too . The problem lies in that not many media cover these events. If not for the internet and groups reporting about their own events, posting pics, how many of us here would even be aware protests were taking place.
Each and every action helps though. If you dont want to do letters as an individual, do it as a group and send something in with several signatures.

Lets keep it up: it's like the many little streams analogy:
Sooner or later, streams start to join up, and before too long they become a massive force: a river in full spate.
Cameron and his cronies better watch out: they can count the sands of power slipping through their fingers in days, not years. Labour needed a good smacking because they were gutless enough not to throw Brown out when it was obvious he was utterly compromised by association, and because they all had their snouts in the expenses trough: but that doesn't mean that these millionaire Tory playboys have some kind of divine right to rule.
Change is coming, faster and much harder than the politicians realise. Just imagine for one moment what would happen if all the voters turned their back on the major parties and voted for the small parties and independents ...

One person talking a lot of sense just now is Caroline Lucas. I may not agree with all their policies but I like her.

I’ve given up on all three political parties and not even sure if the Green Party could live up to their promises in light of the looming crisis.

I have one consolation ‘people power’ will certainly influence the outcome in the next few years.

A campaign to stop the abolition of Disability Living Allowance is now 1,259 votes.

MARCH - PROTEST

This government hates protest, let us be in no doubt about that.Forget Cameron's weasel words praising the Egyptian protesters-Mubarak's end was already a fait accompli.Students can go on marches because student unions have paid staff to arrange them and students aren't carers with the responsibilities that go with the territory.Carers are also spread evenly round the country.
,not neatly compacted aROUND 130 univerisity campuses.Carers also tend to be older , less mobile and less organised AND ITS NOT THEIR FAULT.Nor are carers de facto members of one political party and THEY may live in one place while the caree lives in another. What I do is attend local meetings-liasion groups, forums, board meetings and make my views felt.I also write here and never cease to be cheered up by seeing how many carers read what I write. The press appears staggeringly indifferent to and ignorant of what carers actually do and MPs pay lip service but its all talk and no do.Individual carers have different abilities and interests and what I suggest is that when they find that a local service-council,trust or whatever-isn't doing what it should then they should write in and complain,cc their letters to their MP's,contact the Care Quality Commission by phone JUST DONT STOP!Years ago my stomach churned with anxiety at the thought of having to write to a service director but now its just routine and if I dont get a result I keep on till I do AND SO MUST YOU!!!
