On social care funding, the Conservatives have distinguished themselves from the government by stating that they would not touch attendance allowance or disability living allowance - the key benefits for disabled people requiring care.

By contrast, Labour is considering using money currently paid to pensioners in DLA and AA to increase state funding for care - an idea that has been deeply unpopular with disability groups.

I wish i could be along side ANDY BURNHAM , PHIL HOPE and other health ministers as they stand on their soap box`s talking to their constituents and informing them that to fund the national care service would see over 3 milion over 65`s who are in receipt of either A.A. - D.L.A. losing £280 per week to fund the national care service do you honestly believe that they would then rush to the ballot box and vote for them .........
when the public realise just what is in store for them re benefit cuts to fund the national care service they will get little or no support at all the whole system is a cock up .....

even if you dont ssupport the conservatives the elderly disabled have a strong voice and i can see many voting with their wallets, why should they the most vulnerabled be the only ones to receive a benefit cut because that is what they will see it as .
friend of mine his parents both have A.A. thats £560 per month the cash they receive helps them out with good care at home , Dave has said the A.A is keeping them out of a care / rest home without this cash which he says the national care service could never replace would see his parents placed in care home and the cost £5-000 per month now thats a wee bit more than £560 a month it`s false economy dear GORDON .....
