Thanks very much to everyone who has completed the 2018 State of Caring Survey in the past couple of weeks. If you haven't yet undertaken the survey, it would be really helpful if you could do so in the next week or two.
Each year Carers UK runs the State of Caring Survey to help us show the reality of what it means to care for a family member or friend. We need your help to give us the evidence to support our campaigns and give us a real-time picture of what it’s like to be a carer in 2018.
This is the most extensive survey into carers' experiences in the UK. As a result, it will take at least 20 - 30 minutes to complete. We really appreciate the time that every person takes to complete the survey and give us a full picture of their caring experience. We will publish the survey results later in the year.

Campaigning for change
Last year more than 7000 carers shared their experience by completing the State of Caring Survey. We used this to provide evidence on a whole range of issues and to make the arguments to Government, to policy makers and to MPs about what carers need. It meant the voices of carers were heard in debates about NHS funding, the quality and funding of care services, loneliness, human rights, pensions and many more issues.
This year we are campaigning for carers to be able to access a break from their caring role, for a rise in Carer’s Allowance and for stronger rights for carers who are juggling work and care.
We know too that social care and the NHS will again be at the top of the agenda this year. We want to make sure that pressure on carers is at the centre of discussions about more funding and your evidence will be really helpful in enabling us to do this.
