Yet again during debates within the Lords / Parliament they, that is those who govern us talked of the costs of "social care " but many made the mistake of talking of "social care " in relation to the elderly person living in a "residential care home" social care can be provided within the elderly persons own home or within a residential home ...when in a residential care home the elderly person has to pay for 1, the board and lodgings- in Scotland they call this the rent 2, if the elderly resident needs extra care with feeding , toileting,dressing and personal hygiene they will need social care.. in Scotland social care is free but the elderly person will still have to pay the rent / board and lodgings ...............
