Eight specialist support workers who care for up to 1,000 Lincolnshire families affected by dementia have lost their jobs.

Each year the Alzheimer's Society in Lincolnshire was awarded a £200,000 annual grant by Lincolnshire County Council, until June when its contract was not renewed.

Area manager for the Alzheimer's Society Ian Howarth says the charity no longer has the money to pay the salaries of eight dementia support workers and two administrators whose roles will be made redundant on December.
