Hi,

i came across this link on the Mencap website. Please Please take 2 minutes to do this:

http://campaign.publicaffairsbriefing.c ... eadd851ea3

It's asking you to send an e-invitation (already written) to your MP to go to the next meeting of the All Party Group on Learning Disability where MPs/politicians will be talking about stopping bullying of disabled children in school. This is so important and MPs DO LISTEN to their constituents (cos they want to get voted!), so please take the time!
Done !
Done too

Good luck

Bullying is a real problem - and some disabled kids get a very hard time of it.

However, looking on the positive side, when my son started going to mainstream school aged 5, a parent posted a letter in our local paper saying that special schools were needed because they prevented the inevitable bullying.

I wrote to politely disagree - bullying is just as likely in special schools - maybe more so, as some of the kids have difficult behaviours.

Nine years on, hes still in mainstream and I cant think of a single instance where my son has been bullied.

Might be something to do with his right hook (see quotations thread)! (no, I'm only joking, he isn't a bruiser like me, everyone just loves him to bits) Image
some kis r spiteful to other kids how awful
Hi Excalibur i agree...my girl now 23 experienced bullying in mainstream (mental abuse)and in the special high school mental and physical abuse, she learn't this lady that had made life difficult for her was attending the college that she was attending and was really settled, her behaviour at home went downhill, i sorted it out with college and reassured my girl that people do change and the lady in question had, which i was pleased about for everyone.
