No 10 petition - Fuel bills - carers

The government recently announced it would give families with children a winter fuel payment. They did not however do anything for carers of chronically sick and disabled people. Many carers are living in poverty and have no financial help towards rising fuel costs and utility bills. We therefore petition that carers get a fairer deal and that these "heroes" get some financial help with fuel bills especially during the winter

Just one thing.....have any of this petitions ever worked? I remember one about not having road pricing when these petitions first started and litterally millions signed it, but its still going to happen, so is there any point to these petitions?

They are a way of making our views known: they may not change anything right away but they are an immediate way of informing the government that this is an issue that will not go away, and can be referred to in other submissions by way of support.

It's a slow process but we have to keep trying - doing nothing is not an option.
