There is sickness and critical injury type insurance but I think this is an optional nicety and not taken out by most people like life insurance or endowment with life cover. Maybe just for self employed type people- not really sure.
How about a piece on letting out a parent's home to produce rental income for parent to help fund care home fees? Pros and cons

Can do ... reasonable alternative.

Somewhat complicated given the variables :

Income related benefits being claimed ?

Income now enough to incur income tax ?

Through a limited company or as a private individual / in partnership with another ( Different tax treatment on expenditure as well as salaries drawn / dividends paid ... capital gains tax also another consideration down the line ) ?

... just three that immediately spring to mind.

Permission of the mortgagor ( If mortgaged ) and problems on the death of the caree ( With the property being let on a BTL tenancy ... anything upto 3 years ) are a couple I'll throw in as I type ... research of the mechanics / legal considerations to follow.

The ability to produce a simple YES / NO Flow Chart would be useful ... saves paragraph after paragraph of bland text ( Still NO INK function ! ).

Yep ... the thread all depends on how I set it out ... and subsequently flows.

2 hours or slightly more ... anyone got a stop watch ?
sounds like a mammoth task you are undertaking but could potentially save multiple carers hundreds of thousands of pounds so a worthy project indeed.
Yeh ... tell me about it.

Saving monies ?

That would be interesting twist ... protecting carers' interests in property being the hardest under current law ... it will be in there , somewhere.

For more than 2 million , just keeping a roof over their head would be the priority.

It's that lone carer in me ... if something needs doing , and there's only me around ...

7.6 million carers out there ... what are they doing ?

No real difference in CarerWatch days a decade ago.

Just a motley crue of upto ten at times ... now I'm the only one left still active.

Needs doing ... question to really ask is why aren't Carers UK doing projects like this ... for the benefit of family carers ?

I operate with a staff of one ( Me ) and no budget.

What's their excuse ?
Two immediate inclusions will be these from Shelter :
