Did anyone catch the Channel 4 news tonight, Monday 11th October? I just came across the below on the Crowdfunder....

Rear Admiral Philip Mathias on Channel 4 News

Philip Mathias will be appearing on Channel 4 News this evening (11 October 21) to talk about the Continuing Healthcare scandal. The programme runs for an hour from 1900 - 2000. Unfortunately we don’t know at what point during the broadcast the interview will be aired.

We are still awaiting a response from the Appeals Court judge on whether the Judicial Review can be heard and Philip will be talking to our legal team later this week to chase the decision.

Best wishes,

Dawn Harrison

Appeal Referred for Allocation

Further to our update on 11 October 2021, our legal team has hastened our submission and we have received confirmation that our appeal has been referred for allocation to a judge for determination. We will post a further update once we have any more news.

Thank you for your patience and ongoing support.
Update 16 from Philip Mathias Nov. 21, 2021

Decision still awaited

Although it's very frustrating for all of us, we still have no indication when the Appeals Judge will make a decision on whether the Judicial Review can proceed. What we do know is that there is a significant backlog of applications under consideration.

In the meantime, I thought you would find the following article of interest. It includes a lady who retrospectively recovered £320,000 for her late mother's care but four years after her death.

Only just skim read the refusal and Philip's press release for now - but this is devastating for all those who should get/should have got CHC funding and don't / didn't.

Disgraceful. Rules should be followed, not ignored!
I'm pretty sure the rules of the Courts have altered since the start of the lockdown/pandemic situation, which have affected the outcome of even getting an request for an Appeal granted.

I have been emailing the CHC Campaign Team, that as we are in the midst of a pandemic, surely they can revisit the Appeal; they are now more focused on the media picking things up. Hense they've stated;
The National Association of Retired Police Officers published an article in their magazine as did the Civil Service Pensioners’ Association. The CHC Alliance were suitably lukewarm and didn’t contribute any money, hence Philip’s scathing comment in his Press release.

I recall an article on the News some time ago, where the Government are very focused on limiting courts and came across the following Petition;
The Times has reported that the UK Government, led by Boris Johnson, seeks to implement a new law that allows it to overrule and reverse the decisions of the Judiciary that it doesn't like by way of an "annual review" of the courts' decisions - the "Interpretation Bill".
