Just a quick update - we have now hit 300 signatures including Jenny Pitman, OBE, who is running her own campaign on hospital cleaning issues since losing her father to C.Diff.

Just a quick update on the campaign.

The National Carers Forum were quoted today in the Daily Express' double page health feature titled, How To Survive On £3.50 a day - the article looks at providing a balanced diet on £25 per week.

The petition currently stands at 304 signatures and runs until September 2008.

Hi!

Only just caught up on this thread today. Would the proposal mean this money was means tested? A lot of older people have a lot more money than younger sick and disabled people and this is another whole grey area re things like heating and eating!
Sorry I don't mean to be rude but being seriously ill from a young age now I struggle with the fact that it seems all older people live in poverty - they don't! I know a lot of younger sick and disabled people who are in a much worse or at least similar situation.
Hope I am notspeaking out of turn but what I say here is not meant to be negative but to raise a seperate valid point.
