MACMILLAN LUNG CANCER SUPPORT RESEARCH: UNDERSTANDING THE EXPERIENCES OF PEOPLE AFFECTED BY LUNG CANCER

Macmillan Cancer Support has appointed Andrew Irving Associates to carry out an in depth survey amongst lung cancer patients and their carers. The purpose of the research is to find out ways of improving services to lung cancer patients.

The Andrew Irving Associates interviewers will be aiming to get the views of a cross section of lung cancer patients and their carers across the UK. The interviews will last up to one hour and will be very informal. They will take place within the home of the patient or carer. Those who take part will have an opportunity to express their opinions as freely and fully as they wish. There are no right or wrong answers. It will be fully anonymous and the names of the participants will not be disclosed to anyone else.

As a thank you for taking part, participants will receive £25. This is purely a gift and will not affect any benefits received.

Participation in this study is completely voluntary and the researchers will adhere to the Market Research Society’s Code of Conduct. I can confirm that all the interviewers have been cleared by the Criminal Record Bureau.

If you have any questions about this research or would like to verify the credentials of the Andrew Irving Associates researchers please do not hesitate to contact Jane Rudge, Senior Macmillan Development Manager at Macmillan on the following number 07834 191245.
