Dr Andrew Brennan, Dr. Gerry Riley and Andrea Hough at the University of Birmingham are undertaking a project on the experiences of carers of people with acquired brain injury.

The project aims to uncover the differences between people who have been able to cope well with the trauma of their relative’s injury compared to those having more difficulties. The eventual aim is to identify those families requiring more input and support, and as early as possible.

The research team are particularly interested in the expectations that carers have for their injured relative and for their own future.
