SOC CONF 2019 F

State of Caring Conference 2019

Carers Health and Wellbeing

Wednesday 10 July 2019 9.30am - 4.30pm
Holiday Inn Bloomsbury, London, WC1

About the conference

Building on our success of the 2018 conference, this year Carers UK will bring together key speakers and sector leaders who will outline their vision of the new landscape for health and care. Through a mixed format of keynote sessions and facilitated workshops, delegates should leave with an enhanced knowledge of best practice in carers health and wellbeing.

Workshops will be delivered on key themes such as the NHS long term plan; the Government Green Paper on Social Care; employability; quality, evidence and improvement, and the role of technology in caring.

Chaired by David Brindle, Public Services Editor of The Guardian, the conference will have interactive elements and critical networking opportunities.

Whether you are a commissioner, practitioner or service provider, this conference is for you.

Affiliate members of Carers UK will have a further networking opportunity at the Affiliates early evening reception (4.45-6.30pm).

Programme

This conference is an opportunity to catch up with the ever-changing landscape for carers. The NHS plan is the biggest ever settlement for health to date with new opportunities to engage with and support carers, the Carers Action Plan is well underway in delivery with the promise of innovation funding on the horizon, and there is a Green Paper highly anticipated in the future. It is an ideal time to look at the new opportunities to engage, learn from practice and share outcomes.

We’ll be looking at some of the latest research and evidence across all of the sessions to help demonstrate the value and need for supporting carers in different ways – using practical examples of local and national activity where things have worked well. We’ll be reflecting the trends and practice across the sector to look at shared learning, new developments and opportunities in what continues to be a tight economic environment.
