    Carers UK's responses to consultations on health and social care workforce strategy in England

    Carers UK has responded to the Department for Health and Social Care and Skills for Care's adult social care workforce strategy which ties into Health Education England's wider consultation on the health and care workforce. The results will feed into the workforce strategy which, launching this summer and will also feed into the Government's Green Paper on social care in England.

    Carers UK's response to proposed changes to prescriptions in England

    The NHS in England is considering reducing the number of GP prescriptions for over the counter medicine for a range of health conditions like diarrhoea, infrequent migraines, indigestion which are termed as “minor illnesses suitable for self care” and for conditions like coughs and colds or haemorrhoids termed as “self-limiting illnesses”. NHS England estimates that the restrictions could save the NHS £136 million per year.
