We connect
When you’re caring, it’s easy to feel cut off. Our carer volunteers and support groups are here to put you in touch with people who understand what you’re going through. We’re here to make sure no-one has to care alone.
Caring can be isolating. When we’re looking after someone, it’s not always easy to find people who really know what caring is like and are able to give us help and understanding.
As well as providing support and expert help and advice, we make life better by connecting carers with each other.
Our warm and welcoming online community is a place where you can share what’s on your mind, day and night. You can talk about real issues with people who understand and who can support you through everything caring has to throw at you.
To connect carers in their local communities, we’ve recruited a team of more than 250 volunteers. Our Local Ambassadors are reaching carers and putting them in touch with help from Carers UK as well as local support. Our Awareness Volunteers distribute publicity in their local community to help reach carers.
We also support our carers’ groups to reach out to carers in their communities. These groups are run by volunteers who have experienced the ups and downs of caring for themselves.
Our high profile awareness campaigns reach out to carers throughout the UK. We celebrate Carers’ Rights Day in November and bring charities and other organisations together for Carers Week in June.
