Briefing for Plenary debate in the Welsh National Assembly for Wales

Briefing from the hour long Plenary debate in the National Assembly for Wales on Wednesday 11 June, as part of Carers Week 2014.

During Carers Week 2014, there was an hour long Plenary debate in the National Assembly for Wales on Wednesday 11 June following a proposal from the Welsh Liberal Democrats call on the Welsh Government to:

  1. support an awareness campaign to encourage self-identification and access to support and improve public understanding of the role of carers
  2. develop information for employers to support workers seeking to balance their work and caring roles
  3. work with education providers to provide more flexible provision to enable carers of all ages to access opportunities for education and training.

Carers Wales prepared a briefing for all Assembly Members prior to the debate, many of the facts and figures from the information was used by all Assembly Members. You can watch the debate here.
