Caring and Finances - Get Involved

05 June 2013

Carers Wales is contributing to the Carers UK - Caring and Family Finances Inquiry which will look into the financial impact that caring has had or is having on your lives.

We know that caring for a disabled relative or loved one can push your finances to breaking point.  People's ill health or disability often result in additional household costs including paying for additional care services, aids and home adaptations as well as higher transport costs.  At the same time, caring can force families to reduce working hours or give up work altogether and this can push families into lasting financial hardship and debt.

The financial inquiry will aim to give us hard evidence directly from you on:-

  • The financial impact of caring
  • Enable us to assess the impact of Government's welfare reforms on you and your families
  • Enable us to develop and campaign on reforming financial support available to you and for those you care for.

We are holding sessions around Wales and we would like to invite you to take part.  We have four sessions planned in Swansea, Aberystwyth Mold and Conwy.

If you would like to attend, please complete the download below and return it to us as soon as possible.  Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

We are able to pay travel expenses up to the value of £20.  We will require receipts for public transport.

If you cannot complete the booking form you can e-mail me your details and which venue you would like to attend.  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

I will contact you in due course to let you know whether you have been allocated a place.
