Approach to the Development of a National Outcomes Framework for Social Services in Wales

15 November 2012

The Welsh Government is aiming through its Social Services and Well-being Wales Bill to transform the way that social services are delivered in Wales. The overall aim will be to ensure that social services in Wales promote people's well-being, enabling them to have a stronger voice and real control over their lives.

This consultation is important. It is a key part of the development of the Framework that will set out outcomes for people who need care and support.

People who need care and support, now or in the future, should be able to use the Framework to see what sorts of services they can expect to receive. The focus will be more on outcomes for individuals, whether in their own homes or in residential settings. The Welsh Government want social services to promote people's well-being to give people a voice and real control over their own lives.

This is an important consultation giving you an opportunity to have your say before the details in the Framework are developed.

The consultation closes on 4th February 2013.
