Delivered in partnership by Carers Wales and Hafal.

Objectives

  • Understand the legislative requirements of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure (with reference to the Code of Practice) in relation to working with carers.
  • Consider the dilemmas in relation to confidentiality and information sharing
  • Recognize the impact of caring.
  • Know about carers legislation and the new requirements of the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014.
  • Understand good practice in supporting carers and outcome focused carers assessments.
  • Know about local carers services.

The course is designed for Care Co-ordinators and is delivered in a workshop format to encourage a high level of interaction and discussion of the issues and challenges for practitioners and carers.

The trainer works with the commissioning organisation to tailor the design of the sessions to match their requirements.
