Your time, skills and experience can help us to make life better for carers.
In Wales we have a dedicated team of volunteers who work with us to improve services, support carers, campaign with us and raise awareness of issues that face carers in their local communities.
Our volunteers use their expert caring knowledge to reach out and help other carers in their own local communities. They help carers access information and support and speak up to help improve local services. The volunteers give their time to help with a variety of activities. These can range from holding information stands, giving awareness raising talks in local communities, distribute our information and resources to GP surgeries, pharmacies, hospitals, local care groups, gyms, libraries and even the vets!
As a volunteer we will support you to use your existing skills and help you to develop new ones while you help and reach out to other carers. The role is very flexible and we won’t expect you to spend any more time that you can to volunteer.
Linda, one of our very valued volunteers said this about how her volunteering plays an important part in her day to day life
“I have been volunteering since 2014. I find that caring can be a very lonely experience but by volunteering it gets me out and about. I meet all sorts of interesting people, go to places I have never been before and I also have a lot of fun along the way”.
