Carers Scotland offers free self advocacy training to carers and professionals

by Fiona Collie 26 November 2014

Carers Scotland has produced a Toolkit of resources to support carers to get their own voices heard with the system and with professionals.

The Toolkit can help carers to:

  • communicate effectively
  • better navigate ‘the system’
  • become more savvy
  • deal with the emotions that can inhibit self-expression
  • increase their sense of independence and confidence

The resources can be viewed and freely downloaded by clicking here to visit our self advocacy pages.

To help disseminate the Self-Advocacy Toolkit, Carers Scotland are offering free training sessions to carers and professionals, so they can help carers to get their own voices heard.

Ask your carers group to organise your session by calling Amy Anderson at Carers Scotland on 0141 445 3070 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
