Carers UK has been carrying out and commissioning research into carers lives for almost forty years. Back in the 1970s caring was a hidden issue with almost nothing known about how many people were caring and what impact it had on their lives.

Through our research we have shed light on this previously private issue and brought it into the public arena as one of the most pressing policy issues of the 21st century.
