BAME Policy
Carers UK is working to improve understanding of the challenges faced by Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) carers in accessing support, advice and information.
We conduct research into the experiences of BAME carers, work with community groups and compile examples of good practice in how to identify, reach out to and support carers in minority communities.
BAME Hospital Discharge Brief

Hospital discharge can be a challenging and traumatic time for carers. BAME carers can face additional challenges during hospital discharge, particularly where there may be assumptions that they will care for their own or where communications with family members are poor. The purpose of this briefing is to improve the knowledge and practice of supporting BAME carers at the point of hospital discharge. It draws on expertise, knowledge and involvement of carers and professionals across London.
