On the 28th January 2013 the Welsh Government introduced the draft Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Bill to the National Assembly for Wales for consideration and further scrutiny. The short policy briefing below summarises the key points and principles behind the Bill.

Local Health Boards were issued with Guidance and Regulations in December 2012 on how the Welsh Government expects them to implement the new law. We have been working closely with the NHS in Wales and we have written a policy briefing with our views of what they key issues will be for the effective development and implementation of the Measure.  

The Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) commissioned research on the provision of respitecare in Wales. This research by LE Wales was completed in December 2010.

The Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) has issued a consultation on the Regulations andGuidance that will be issued to relevant authorities to ensure that carers get appropriateinformation and advice.
