Carers NI Committee elections - nominations now open
By standing for election to the Northern Ireland Committee, Carers NI members can help us shape the work we do and ensure carers stay at the heart of everything we do.
Carers NI is part of Carers UK. The organisation has a devolved structure and the work of Carers NI is supported by the Northern Ireland Committee. Carers UK is a charity governed by its Board of Trustees and the Northern Ireland Committee is a standing committee of and accountable to this Board.
This year, two Committee places are available. We are welcoming nominations from any Carers NI members across Northern Ireland. However, we are aiming to make our Committee as representative of carers here in Northern Ireland as we possibly can, and would therefore particularly welcome nominations from members in the Western Health and Social Care Trust area. If you live in the Newry and Mourne or Ards peninsula areas we would also particularly welcome your involvement. We would also like to extend a particular welcome for nominations from carers who are juggling work and care as well as carers from the Black and Minority Ethnic communities.
Nominations will close on Friday 23 September at 12 noon. If more nominations are received than places available, a ballot will be held and Carers NI members will vote to select our two new Committee members. If you have any queries about the nominations, please feel free to contact Clare-Anne Magee on 02890 439843.
