What a mixed bag of a week!

20 July 2014

It was great to get back to running club on Thursday evening – even if it was a little hot and humid. It felt good to start getting into a routine (of sorts). I am hoping to get my Garmin GPS runnng watch back soon as I am still guessing my mileage, but am focusing on the time of my long run and trying to do better with my navigational skills and trying not to get lost on a Sunday run.

It was great to see Sylvia, Steve, Oli and Jamie from Nutricia last night at their half way point of the amazing Race to the Stones Challenge (100km) which they completed late morning today because they walked through the night – a truly inspiring feat and they were also raising money and awareness for Carers UK.

Going back to today, I was pleased to not get rained on, not get sunburnt, not get bitten and not get lost and be back in plenty of time to organise home in getting to see Nathaniel (five years old) in his end of term performance for the Jamie Read Theatre School which was based on the Circus at a local Arts School which was fantastic.

Now for a quick look at the Tour De France highlights and getting ready for the week ahead.

The main aims for this week are to get two runs in during the week and a long run at the weekend with a carrot of a booked sports massage on the 30 July... but also to celebrate my youngest son's birthday, who has somehow managed to celebrate a few times which means two cakes also need to be baked!
