Train the Trainer for Carers2008 saw the launch of the National Carers Strategy, where Government promised to raise awareness of carers and make them more visible. Now, two years later this promise has started to bear fruit as a group of carers from the North East of England successfully completed the innovative Train the Trainer course, developed and delivered by Carers UK, enabling them to become trainers.
The course was funded by the Department of Health and delivered by Carers UK with co-ordination and support being provided by Jobcentre Plus. This historic team-up between the two organisations was a rousing success, leading Enid Dalton, the Care Partnership Manager at Jobcentre Plus to declare:
"This is the first time that we have worked with Carers UK and I have to say it's been absolutely brilliant".
