When you're caring, it's easy to feel cut off. Our carer volunteers and support groups are here to put you in touch with people who understand what you're going through. We're here to make sure no-one has to care alone.
Caring can be isolating. When we’re looking after someone, it’s not always easy to find people who really know what caring is like and are able to give us help and understanding.
Carers UK forum
Our warm and welcoming online community is a place where you can share what’s on your mind, day and night. You can talk about real issues with people who understand and who can support you through everything caring has to throw at you.

Carers Together is a volunteering project, funded by the Big Lottery Fund, delivered by TimeBank and supported by Carers UK. It offers carers the support of a trained volunteer – someone who knows what they are going through and can listen and support them.
Carers Together has two services:
- an online support service, available to anyone in England with access to the internet
- a face to face mentoring service for those in the Birmingham area
TimeBank recruits, trains and supports volunteers who have current or previous caring experience and who would like to act as mentors to other carers. Mentors are able to share their own experience and techniques that have helped them.

Carers UK Ambassadors
To connect carers in their local communities, we’ve recruited a team of more than 60 volunteer ambassadors. Our Local Ambassadors are reaching carers and putting them in touch with help from Carers UK as well as local support. Our GP Ambassadors are working with GP surgeries to improve support for carers.
We also support our carers’ groups to reach out to carers in their communities. These groups are run by volunteers who have experienced the ups and downs of caring for themselves.
