Why leave a legacy to Carers UK?
You may know or have known someone who is a carer. Perhaps you have been cared for or maybe you are a carer yourself. Surprisingly 3 in 5 of us will care for a loved one at some point in our lives.
A gift in your Will to Carers UK can be the most powerful way to support the 6 million carers who provide unconditional and unpaid care for a loved one, often on a daily basis. Carers have referred to our range of vital services as their ‘lifeline’. These include providing expert advice and information to improve carers’ quality of life, giving help and information on maximising their income, helping carers look after a love done at home through local sitting services, accessing practical support from a nationwide network of devoted volunteers and putting carers in touch with each other through our confidential online forum. Carers have said of the services that they ‘demystify the maze of caring’ and have literally transformed carers’ lives. All gifts, whatever size, will offer vital support to our services. By leaving a gift in your Will to Carers UK you really can help us build a better future for carers.
How your legacy can help make a difference
Marianne, 56 from South Yorkshire has included a gift in her Will to Carers UK to support the advice line.
"I have been caring full time for my husband since he suffered a stroke 3 years ago. Since that night our lives have never been the same again, and I had no idea where to turn to. I rang the free advice line number and spoke to a lady who told me about the financial help and support available to carers.
Leaving a gift in my Will to Carers UK is the best way I can say thank you and to show my support for them. I can't afford to donate at this stage but leaving a gift will cost me nothing now and I hope it will help others with similar experiences get help and advice".
The helpline responds to over 16,000 calls each year, with the average caller ending up £5,400 a year better off as a result of the information received. It is literally a lifeline for millions of carers.
