Free computers for carers in the Luton area.

Postby wendy » Fri Jul 06, 2007 11:01 am

Hi,
Many of you may know that I have been trying to get computers for carers, because I know how difficult it can be when a computer breaks down. Sometimes a carer, sadly has to go without the only means of contact with the outside world because they do not have the money available to buy another one.
I have the offer of 15 computers, 6 keyboards and 3 printers from a large worldwide company in Luton.
They are all in working order but would need to be picked up from the company in Luton.
Please would you get back to me as soon as possible (actually before 9th July) if you are interested either by private message or to carerschillout@googlemail.com.
I hope that you are pleased with this and remember it is only the beginning.
best wishes
Wendy

I know I've said this on other forums Wendy but I'll say it again - well done girl, you've done an amazing job getting these computers, you should be proud of yourself.

It didn't work.
I rang the local carer centres and they said they would ring me back. I rang them both twice but no one has rung back.
So there are 16 carers in the Luton area, without computers now, who could have had free ones.
Seems such a pity.
I am still waiting to hear back from the multi nationals companies that I sent letters to about Computers for carers. I will let you know what they have to say.
best wishes and thanks

I have to hang my head in shame, someone from the Luton carers centre rang me back and is delighted with the news and plans to take the offer further and will let carers know.
I am really pleased.
