I'm pretty much at a loss for words after this morning. My step son who has Aspergers developed severe toothache over the weekend, initially we could only get an appt at the dentist for next Monday, kept phoning through for a cancellation and managed to get one for this morning. We explained to the dentist that he has Aspergers and bottom line was that she said he needed two extractions and has referred him elsewhere, the mention of the words Autism and Aspergers freaked her out. I've phoned the clinic he's been referred to and as of a few minutes ago the earliest available appointments they have is for w/c 11 October, in the meantime school won't have him back in attendence until the problem is sorted, he's in severe pain that's not being eased by pain relief and he DOESN'T understand the concept of pain. Have already put in a complaint about the treatment received at the dental surgery.
My partner and myself are both so angry.
